DSI PGA Sutures

Polyglycolic acid surgical suture DSI PGA Sutures
DSI Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) Sutures: an absorbable braided synthetic homopolymer of glycolic acid. Composed of a Polyglycolic acid coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate.
Since polyglycolic acid is not a naturally occurring organic substance, it elicits much less inflammatory response. It is absorbed by hydrolysis. DSI PGA Sutures possess great tensile strength and excellent knot security.
After two weeks of implantation, 85% of the initial tensile strength remains with polyglycolic acid suture.

Polyglycolide or polyglycolic acid (PGA), also spelled as polyglycolic acid, is a biodegradable, thermoplastic polymer and the simplest linear, aliphatic polyester.

Absorption by hydrolysis complete between 60 and 90 days. Always predictable, always reliable.
Synthetic suture means that this suture is perfectly compatible with every patient and will not provoke any negative body reactions.

DSI PGA sutures demonstrates its best in dental implantology, thanks to the whole spectre of its nature. In two phases surgical implantation procedure the best results could be achieved with use of PGA sutures, because of predictable absorbing time and tensile strength that reduced gradually, that parallels with tissue healing, and bone regeneration.
As result, after 60 - 90 days the healing process is complete, and the sutures are fully absorbed.
DSI PGA suture is classified as a synthetic, absorbable, braided multifilament. It is naturally degraded in the body by hydrolysis and is absorbed as water-soluble monomers, completed between 60 and 90 days.
It has the advantages of high initial tensile strength, smooth passage through tissue, easy handling, excellent knotting ability, and secure knot tying. It is commonly used for subcutaneous sutures, intracutaneous closures, abdominal and thoracic surgeries. DSI PGA sutures have great initial tensile strength, guaranteed holding power through the critical wound healing period. DSI PGA retains 70% of it's tensile strength by the end of the 2nd week, and it's progressively absorbed between 60 and 90 days.
DSI Polyglycolic acid (PGA) sutures are: synthetic, absorbable, sterile, multifilament, are indicated in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery, Gynecology-Obstetrics, Episiotomy, Urology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, General Closing, Bondage, Pediatrics and cuticles. Also can be used in veterinary, and have a great effectiveness. DSI PGA sutures are used in dentistry for any kind of surgical procedures, thanks to its strength it has the high demand on the market, among dentistry surgeons.
Distinctive Characteristics of DSI PGA suture:
• Handling property is very good and knots securely
• Easy passage through tissues due to its low frictional coefficient
• No tissue reactivity, PGA is a synthetic suture
• Excellent elasticity
• Excellent histocompatibility

DSI takes extreme caution in everything that is has to be sterile for the patient’s, that is why DSI PGA Sutures are meet a "Grade A" sterile standards.
The local zone for high risk operations, filling zone, stopper bowls. such conditions are provided by a laminar airflow workstation. Laminar airflow systems provides a homogeneous air speed in a range of 0.36 – 0.54 m/s (guidance value) at the working position in open clean room applications.
The maintenance of laminarity is demonstrated and validated.
The final stage of sterilization is made with radiology and the gamma ray sterilization process takes up to one month and never has to be interrupted. DSI PGA Sutures are licensed with CE, and ISO. Those licences are our promise that we meet the highest world's standards, and have the highest quality material.

Every pack has a double sterile layer, and laid in an aluminium foil, that protects the suture.
Comes with a needle attached, and ready to use.

Every suture comes in with a special designed curved needle.
DSI specializes in implants, prosthetics, and dental surgical tools.
DSI have a huge advantage, thanks to the ability, experience and technology, by developing a new generation needles for the sutures.
DSI needles are made of surgical steel alloy, and made as slim as possible without compromising strength, stable in the grasp of a needle holder, able to carry suture material through tissue with minimal trauma.
DSI needles DSI needles sharp enough to penetrate tissue with minimal resistance, Rigid to resist bending, yet ductile to resist breaking, sterile, and corrosion-resistant.
